LARRY RAWSON
(Biography)

One of television’s foremost track and field and marathon analysts for nearly 25 years

Emmy Award-winning broadcaster

Has been covering the sports on ESPN and ESPN2’s since 1980, the U.S. Olympic Festivals since 1985, the 1996 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trails, the NCAA Track and Field Championships, the Boston and New York City Marathons, and many major international events

Served as ESPN SportsCenter and NBC Radio reporter at the 1996 Summer Olympics

Gave additional information to an announcer at the 1974 Boston Marathon and was offered a chance to part of the coverage over the air

Became the "Voice of Track and Field," a title given to him by Craig Masback-CEO of Track and Field in the United States, and the "Voice of the Boston Marathon," covering every year of the prestigious event on radio or TV, including the last several years on ESPN

Part of the Emmy Award-winning team for ESPN’s program "Outside the Lines: Steroids-Whatever it Takes," which won in the Sports Journalism category in 1991

Member of the broadcast team for the 1988 Millrose Games which won a New York Broadcasters Association Emmy award for Outstanding Live Sports Programming

Graduated from Boston College in 1963, with a B.S. degree in business and English and a running time of 4.07 miles
